Attraverso la fotografia, osservando e documentando la realtà che lo circonda, Mauro Montanaro riesce a descrivere il mondo contemporaneo mostrandolo come qualcosa di puro e incontaminato, smussando in tal modo i tratti impervi della sua personalità, condivisa tra razionalità e intuizione del momento da cogliere tra magia e favola.  Di certo egli è un pragmatico, ma sempre alla ricerca di una spiritualizzazione che trova fuori da sé, nelle sfumature riproposte in un fiore, in un farfalla, nei tratti somatici della gente, nel silenzio della neve o di un paese incantato, scenari che vivono fuori dal tempo, quadri dipinti da un artista, eternità di aspetti naturali che lui stesso definisce “oasi di colore e fantasia”.

Ogni immagine, anche quella che potrebbe apparire come la più convenzionale, viene afferrata in un particolare stato contemplativo dall’artista, rapito via via dall’incanto, dalla purezza, dallo stupore talora primitivo e spontaneo davanti ad un mondo ancora tutto da scoprire nella sua apparente semplicità.

“Io ritaglio la mia terra, la scopro e imparo a conoscerla attraverso la gente, gli usi, i costumi, le tradizioni e ancor più nei mutamenti delle epoche e delle stagioni”; meglio, la viviseziona, nel senso che la ritrae con attenta composizione, senza privarla del respiro della vita: le sue immagini vivono, le sue linee essenziali, che egli predilige, vibrano tra la terra e l’infinito, alla ricerca di una dimensione vera e incontaminata, dove l’unicità dell’uomo trova la sua ragion d’essere.

By photography, observing and documenting the reality around him, Mauro Montanaro manages to describe the contemporary world showing it as something pure and uncontaminated, rounding off in this way the inaccessible trait of his personality, shared between rationality and intuition of the time to get between magic and fable.For sure he is a pragmatic, but he is always looking for a spirituality that he can find outside him, in the shading reproposed in a flower, a butterfly, in somatic traits of people, in the silence of the snow or in an enchanted village, scenary that lives outside the time, paintings paint by an artist, eternity of natural aspects that he calls "oasis of colour and fantasy" himself.

Each image, also the one that could seem the most conventional, it is caught in a particular contemplative condition by the artist, ravished more and more by the enchantment, the pureness, the astonishment sometimes primitive and spontaneous in front of the world still to discover in its apparent semplicity.

"I cut out my land, I discover it and I learn to know it through the people, the custom and use, the tradition and much more through the change for the epoches and seasons"; better, he vivisections it, that means he withdraws it with careful composition, without depriving it of the life's breath: his images live, his essential lines, he prefers, they hurl between the land and the infinity, looking for a real and uncontaminated dimention, where the uniqueness of the man can find his being reason.
